CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS1. Be on time.
- You should be in your seat when the bell rings. 2. Bring class materials every day. - American History textbook - Pencil or Pen (blue/black ink*) *All work that will be graded should be completed in pencil or blue/black ink only. I will not grade work in any other ink color. - 3 ring binder with loose leaf paper divided into the following sections: 1) Discovering (Bell Ringers); 2) Exploring (Class Notes, Maps, Handouts); 3) Applying (Homework, Projects, Essays). - Post It Notes - Highlighters - Composition Notebook (May be left in the classroom) 3. Be courteous and respectful. - Remain in your assigned seat during class. - Raise your hand if you have a question or comment and wait to be called upon. - Food and drinks are not allowed.(Water in a closed container is the only exception.) - Keep our classroom neat by cleaning up after yourself. - Follow all school rules as outlined in the Code of Conduct. 4. Be honest. - Cheating will not be tolerated. - Any form of cheating and/or plagiarism will earn the grade of "zero". 5. Be a positive, willing participant in class. - Listen and take notes. - Participate in class discussions. - Complete all assignments ON TIME. Tardy Policy
If you are late to our class without an excuse, then the following action will be taken. You may choose from one of the following: 1. Before school detention 2. Break detention 3. Writing Assignment Excessive tardies to our class will result in a discipline referral. Cell Phone Policy Each day, students should place his/her phone in their assigned cubby at the front of the room. If a student is using his/her phone when instructed not to, then the following action(s) will be taken. First offense: Your phone will remain with Mrs. Marshall until 3:30. You may pick it up after school. Second offense: If you have your phone out, then you owe me one of the following: 1) before school detention; 2) break detention; or 3) writing assignment. Third offense: Discipline referral. |

Restroom Policy
~You have time between classes to take care of personal business. However, you will be given 3 emergency restroom passes per nine weeks to use. It is your responsibility to keep up with the passes. ~If you use all three passes and absolutely must use the restroom, then you may choose from the following: 1) use a classmate's pass if they are willing to give it to you; 2) before school detention; 3) break detention; or 4) writing assignment Make-Up Work ~If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to get all work that you missed including class notes. ~Check the make-up folder for any handouts that you missed. ~Check the bulletin board for your "While You Were Out" notice. This notice will tell you of any assignments you missed. You will need to speak with Mrs. Marshall at the end of class to discuss when the assignment is due. ~If an assignment was due the day you were absent, stamp the date on the missed assignment and place it in the appropriate tray. ~Please read the new policy in the Madison County Schools handbook pertaining to absences and make-up work. |
